An archive of paper that was never meant to last, scanned until the screen, the fold and the fibre show. is what was headed for the bin: tickets, raffles, bags, labels, a parking stub from Vienna. are strips and offcuts, paper already cut by somebody else. is paper ruled into boxes — receipt books, dot pads, graph paper, an electrocardiogram. is counting made visible: runs of raffle tickets, invoice columns, a barcode. is paper that speaks: a rubber stamp, a brand, a word set large enough to shout across a room. is the printing dot enlarged until the image falls apart into grid. is what stops being a thing up close and turns into surface. is paper printed in one ink, black on white, or worn down to it. is the pieces that are square themselves, not just the scan around them.
